It's fascinating to see the resurgence of toys made from natural materials, like fabric dolls. I've been been saving this somewhat modern fabric doll for 30-some years now. My great Aunt Reba stitched the doll and her dress for me and mailed it as a present in a shoebox when I was fairly young.
I'm noticing how the eyes incorporated both felt and stitching, and how the arms and legs were nicely hinged with pearly plastic buttons. Aunt Reba was a very neat seamstress.
My favorite detail is the rip in the little brown felt shoe, which my mother patched with what must have been the first thing she found...a piece of navy blue doubleknit polyester.
