No nonsense sent me a complimentary pair of black leggings and black fishnet tights to try. The leggings are thin enough to wear under a skirt; and they inspired me to wear a charcoal skirt that I felt was a bit too short to wear with regular panyhose. Paired with the coordinating jacket and a forgotten scarf, the leggings helped me create a new professional outfit from items already in my closet.
I realized that fun fishnets didn't have to be overly revealing. Instead, I paired those tights with a modest sweater dress. They also emboldened me to buy myself a new pair of leather boots (thanks to the friends who suggested those), so I'd be ready to step out this New Year's in style. The fishnet tights were surprisingly soft and comfortable.
While I'm aspiring to exercise more and balance work and family life better in the new year, I'm also inspired by this fashion exercise to take another look at my closet. If an outfit doesn't 
make me look good and feel more confident, it probably doesn't belong there. In many cases, some old standards in my closet simply need an update. I love how something as low-cost as a pair of tights can help me get new use out of a suit I haven't worn in years. This is an affordable way to go from frumpy to fabulous in 2013!
