Spring cleaning will include locating envelopes of forgotten flower seeds at our house. I just discovered a couple of photos that showed our summer project of trying to preserve some of our colorful flowers for the next year.
Saving the flower seeds was easy. We waited until the flower centers were dry, then plucked them and crushed them in our hands, trying to separate the tiny, dark seeds from the larger pieces of, light, woody, chaff. These very dry seeds went right into an envelope.

This simple project inspired my budding artist to preserve the summer's blooms with a sketch. Have you ever saved flower seeds?
