A rainbow-colored stack of warm fleece blankets was pictured on the front of the card. Inside, was a photo of the exact blanket my children had made for a child in Guatemala.
What a thoughtful follow-up from the mission team that had visited several Mayan families late last year to bring blankets and much more.
While Neustros Ninos did take fleece blankets to the highlands of Guatemala, they also assisted with efforts to provide filters for clean water, safer cook stoves and basic medical help. The follow-up report let us know that the family receiving our blanket lives on a father's wage of $26 per week and a mother's wage of $1 per week. Can you imagine?
