Family Farm Visit

Funny how we get these preconceived notions about what things are supposed to look like.  For instance, a family farm scene would include cattle grazing on rolling hills, and fields planted with row after row of corn.  Or maybe that picture only fits in the Midwest or North.  Turns out we did find a few farm animals when we visited an otherwise unconventional farm in Central Florida recently.  Yet we saw flat land, no corn, and not much planted in the ground.

This week, we'll be featuring a farm where soil is not required, but where lots of good food is growing with organic methods.  We'll find out what makes this farm so popular with local restaurants, and see what tips can enrich our own efforts to eat better.

Thanks to our hosts for the fresh spinach they sent home with us.  We ate it all.
