Celebration in Moderation FlourSackMama.com All Natural Turkey Hill Ice Cream Giveaway!

A wise woman and mother once told me kids will eat their fruits, veggies and other healthy foods if you make them available as snacks instead of the sugary alternatives.  I couldn't agree more.  This is something we attempt at our house on a regular basis.  But my kids also appreciate sweet treats.  Peace of mind comes from offering the most wholesome version of these treats whenever we have them, in moderation.  That's why FlourSackMama.com is teaming up with Turkey Hill Dairy to offer some free samples of their All Natural Recipe ice cream that comes in several scrumptious flavors. Ingredients include the few things that you'd expect in real ice cream, like milk, sugar and cocoa.  None of those icky artificial flavors, fillers or preservatives that our family's trying to avoid

My preschooler helped me field test three flavors of ice cream today:  She liked the Vanilla Bean and Cherry Vanilla (with real cherries).  My favorite is the Vanilla Bean, Chocolate and Butter Almond combo.  With its clever strip of chocolate and butter-roasted almonds, it makes ice cream downright sophisticated.  Thanks to Turkey Hill for our coupons so we could share this treat in our kitchen.  We used the typical sized ice cream scoop, then my daughter tried a smaller cookie dough scoop so she could help.

Turkey Hill Dairy is based in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and is a strong supporter of small farmers through the Lancaster Farmland Trust. They recently built a visitor center in a refurbished silk mill.  They mostly offer ice cream right now via stores east of the Mississippi River.  You can check out this directory page to see if a grocer near you is offering this brand.  Although we'll mail the coupons to the random winners in the continental United States, we can't guarantee how close you'll be to a participating store.  Detailed giveaway rules are at the bottom of this post.
