Growing Readers

Some children's books can be a hard sell for those of us parents who grew up rhyming with Dr. Seuss.  I have to admit that at first, the text didn't draw me in when the kids and I had story time with the children's books Stonyfield sent us.

Then we started admiring the colorful illustrations.  And wondering aloud, just like Tractor Mac, who raided the pantry?  After just one read-through with me, my preschooler picked up the books and start retelling the stories in her own words.

In the Garden by innovativeKids uses simple language in its board book printed on 98% recycled materials.  Author and illustrator Billy Steers uses Tractor Mac's message in Farmer's Market to support the Plow to Plate coalition.  Both books offer extras like scrumptiously simple recipes using fresh foods.  After discovering Steers' books that are printed in the USA, we marked the free online resources at the Tractor Mac website, like free coloring pages and games.
