Love to create quick and easy meals that kids can help with? My girls have fun using cookie cutters, and they get to use them a lot more when we're making something for lunch.
We started turning our whole wheat bread into hearts, complete with the tiny heart window on top. We tried plain yogurt as an alternative to mayo on the bread. I sliced a cucumber and let the girls layer that to create their own pretty sandwiches.
We complemented our cool cucumber sandwiches with some pretty pink soup. This soup involves fresh or frozen strawberries and peaches, plus some other ingredients to make it naturally sweet. What makes it creamy is the Stonyfield Lowfat Plain Yogurt. You can find the complete recipe at this link, from Meg at Stonyfield.
Love this idea! I've read that a large part of a food's appeal is presentation, and fun shapes are awesome. I may try this myself!
