The face of modern farming is changing, and some say for the better. Organic and sustainable methods are renewing hope that we can nourish communities without polluting air, water or soil. Here are a few of my favorite organic farmers that I've met and visited with over the past couple of years:
These organic farmers are some of my favorites because they were motivated by a health concern to find a better way of doing things.
This heirloom seed company founder is one of my favorite organic farmers because he's passionate about the pure food movement.
This Florida mother is one of my favorite organic farmers because she and her family can grow gourmet food without even needing dirt.
This Kansas farmer is one of my favorite organic farmers because he's carrying on an old-world family tradition and was growing organics before they became trendy!
These University of Tennessee students are some of my favorite organic farmers because they're being innovative about bringing organics to their community.
This is one of my favorite organic farmers because he turned a struggling family dairy into an innovative business! There are many more innovative organic farmers out there, and I haven't even begun to mention every one of them.
But these are my favorite organic farmers of all. They may be starting small, but they come from a long line of proud family farmers, and they know where their food comes from!

Wow--I'd never heard of that guy from Kansas, and he's in my neck of the woods too. Thanks for the new name to look for!
